The eduPED project was presented at the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026 in Barcelona, hosted at the DUT Partnership stand!
Represented on-site by team members, Núria Garrido Soriano and Juan Diego García Honores, eduPED joined researchers, urban planners, and climate innovators from across Europe to discuss how university campuses can act as active drivers in the transition toward Positive Energy Districts (PEDs).
Poster Presentation & Knowledge Sharing: We introduced the core vision of eduPED, highlighting how academic institutions and higher education campuses can serve as real-world testbeds for sustainable urban regeneration.
Building Climate Resilience: Our team engaged in discussions around making urban districts more resilient to extreme heat and climate impacts—focusing on integrating renewable energy, improving overall energy performance, and enhancing indoor comfort.
European Collaboration: Participating alongside fellow Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Partnership projects provided a platform to exchange practical insights and build connections for future joint initiatives.
As extreme weather events and rising temperatures place greater pressure on urban infrastructure, university campuses offer a unique environment to pioneer energy-positive solutions.
We extend our sincere thanks to the DUT Partnership for creating a platform to showcase our research, as well as to everyone who visited our poster and contributed to the conversations.
Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing pilot studies and project milestones!
